REALIZATION PROCESS
Several years ago, I heard that Judith Blackstone, a former dancer I knew in my youth, had developed a system of embodied meditation she named the Realization Process. Coincidentally, I'd been looking for a new meditative modality to study and was excited to see what a fellow dancer had come up with. I've found many methods of meditation or mind/body practices to be too disconnected from the physical body to resonate with me.
I picked up a book of Judith's and was ecstatic to find that one of her primary principles is to totally inhabit one's body, living fully within yourself while simultaneously experiencing oneness with the fundamental consciousness that pervades the entire universe. I decided this was for me.
After participating in a few Realization Process classes, I enrolled in the teacher certification, which I completed over the course of three years of study. I undertook this mainly for my own benefit, since I have always found immersion in a teaching program the way to learn most deeply, but I also had hopes of bringing the work into my practice to help others.
Sometimes I introduce Realization Process principles and exercises into my Rolfing sessions; additionally, I hold Zoom sessions focused purely on RP meditation, as well as in person practice.
